Congratulations Elevate Academy Candidates!

The following teachers completed a two-year professional growth journey, and engaged in deep professional learning and action research while in their current teaching role. They presented a Capstone Project that included a problem of practice, research, implementation, and impact data to earn their rank chance.

The Elevate Academy is a Continuing Education Option Plan II Program with the Green River Regional Educational Cooperative that allows any KY Educator with a Rank III or Rank II to earn an EPSB-approved rank change.

Congratulations to Jennifer Holmes and Robin Morck, Sebree ELS, Jennie Hopper and Tara Pelton, Dixon ELS, and Melissa McBride, Providence ELS! 🎉

Leadership Alliance Held First Meeting

The first meeting of the WC Leadership Alliance was last Thursday and was attended by 25 parents, community, and business leaders who are interested in learning more about Webster County Schools.

After introductory remarks from Mr. Harrell, Brandi Burnett, Director of Finance, discussed how schools are funded and presented a breakdown of the district's finances, including program and expense funding. The attendees asked questions and provided ideas for the following meetings. The meeting concluded with a short trip to the athletic complex to discuss the summer HVAC, roofing, and track bonding project.

The next Leadership Alliance meeting will be held in January.

ParentSquare Update: Smart Delivery Notification

We’re introducing smart notification delivery, a new way to make ParentSquare communication smoother for families using the app. This enhancement sends post notifications through the ParentSquare app first, using text only as a backup—reducing duplicate messages while keeping families fully informed.

The update will roll out gradually, beginning this week for an initial group of schools. Additional schools will follow in the coming weeks.

What to expect:

  • Post notifications now go to the app first, with a text fallback if needed
  • This applies to posts, post digests, and post updates
  • Email notifications still go out for all communications
  • Alerts and direct messages continue to go to all subscribed methods

This change applies only to families and staff who are subscribed to both app and text notifications. They’ll receive a brief text message explaining the change, and a short message the first time they open the ParentSquare app.

Do you need to download the ParentSquare app?

  • Choose the ParentSquare app from your app store, then tap to download.
  • Use your email and cell number that are in Infinite Campus to log in. (Please call your home school to revise the email address or cell number.)
  • Follow the instructions in the app to connect with Webster County Schools and your home school.
With ParentSquare, you’ll receive all school and classroom messages in one place and translated into your preferred language—whether by email, text, app, or web. You’ll also be able to:

  • Stay up to date on news and events
  • Send and receive messages with teachers and staff
  • Fill out forms and permission slips
  • Sign up for conferences and volunteer opportunities
  • Pay fees and invoices
  • View calendar items and photos from your school
  • Submit parent notes after absences
