🚌 Bus of the Month 🚌

Congratulations to Mrs. Paula's Sebree Bus, who is January's Bus of the Month! Way to go, Bus 2025 crew! 🎉

WCHS STLP Students Attend State Event

Three WCHS STLP (Student Technology Leadership Program) Engineers/Ambassadors, Braghen Sloat, Kamryn Edens, and Alyssa Cartwright, met with the Kentucky Commissioner of Education, Dr. Robbie Fletcher, and the Associate Commissioner, David Couch, in Frankfort on February 26th at the Kentucky Department of Education.

During their visit, they provided student voice in sessions with both members of the Kentucky Department of Education and the Office of Education Technologies.

The three students are part of the statewide cohort of the 12 STLP Engineers/Ambassadors. The WC Engineers/Ambassadors will represent Webster County at the state-wide KAST (Kentucky Association for School Technology) Conference in Louisville, the week of March 10th.

WC Schools Announces School Calendar Adjustment

Recently, Webster County Schools submitted a request to the KY Department of Education for two emergency days due to the county water emergency. When the Webster County Board of Education voted on February 9th to submit the emergency day request, we knew it could be denied. However, our previous requests have been approved, and we were hoping for the same result this time.

Unfortunately, we have been notified that our emergency application was denied. As a result, we are required to make up the two missed instructional days to meet the state’s attendance and instructional hour requirements.

Our make-up dates for the two emergency days are:

April 13th - Make-up Day for February 2nd
May 18th - Make-up Day for February 3rd (Last Day for Students)

Webster County High School’s graduation scheduled for Friday, May 15th, will not be impacted by this calendar adjustment.

🌟 February Student Spotlights 🌟

At Monday night's board meeting, we spotlighted Venecia Gilbert, a Providence Elementary School student, and the middle and high school 4-H LifeSmarts teams!

To begin the meeting, Venecia led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance. Thank you, Venecia!

Wade Raymer, Webster County 4-H Agent, shared that the LifeSmarts Teams qualified for the state competition by completing an online preliminary competition that tested their knowledge of five key areas: consumer rights and responsibilities, the environment, health and safety, personal finance, and technology. In their divisions, the middle school team won 1st place, and the high school team was runners-up! Congratulations to both teams! 🎉

Congratulations to our Employees of the Month!
