Good morning! There have been several questions throughout the schools in the district regarding student medication. We understand that the process can be frustrating for our families, but the process must be completed properly to comply with regulations that schools must follow. We hope that the following steps will clarify the process for everyone.
- ALL STUDENTS need a consent to treat form in order to be seen in the school Health Office.
- All required paperwork/documentation must be completed properly before any parent can bring medication to the school.
- Required paperwork/documentation must be completed at the beginning of each school year. If you completed the process previously, it has to be done again.
- Only the Health Office Staff can accept medication when it is brought in.
- Parent/guardian must be the one to bring the medication to the nurse at the student's school. Students are not allowed to bring the medication in.
- Medication can be dropped off by the parent/guardian from 8 am-3 pm.
- Students cannot carry medication on them unless it is emergency medication per the student's care plan.
For your convenience, please call our school Health Office at 270-639-0202 to ensure that appropriate paperwork/documentation is completed before bringing medication to the school.
